We were back up at Kingston Hill with this hardy bunch
After we had to cancel our November and January Rhodo bashes we were all inching to get back to Kingston Hill and tackle some rhodo that even the weather wasn't going to hold us back - or at least not completely!
There was a fantastic turn out from the Geocashers and we worked until the rain had soaked our working gloves to the point they were more sponge then glove! but we still got a lot done.
Splitting into small teams and exiting bubbles, the teams worked in different parts of the woodland, breaking through area and clearing pockets of brambles that were protecting access to rhodo stands.
Can you spot the difference in the before and after photos below?
My thanks, as ever, goes out to all of the volunteers who attended today despite the rain, helping to continue our efforts to eradicate this invasive species from the woodland :)
We are back to the same place from 10am on the 29th of January to continue the fight.
If you want to join us please email biodiversity@kingston.ac.uk and send us your contact details inc. phone number to sign up.
Til next time.
