31-10-2019: Upcomming events!!!!! - Think global - act local

There are a few non-KUBAG events coming up in and around Kingston University which are really great for both learning about issues at a global scale and also allowing you to act locally.

Think Global

Starting from the 13th of November, there are a series of free Wednesday evening Geography lectures on climate change, natural disasters and more.

Come and learn about the carbon cycle, why 1.5°C matters for climate change, how humans can manage natural disasters, the workings of 21st century trade and what made people sick 200 years ago. All lectures are relevant to A-level Geography syllabuses.

No background in geography is required and the lectures are open to anyone that's interested in attending, from students from local schools to family and friends. Entry is free and refreshments will be provided.

Act local

If some of those topics inspire you to act locally, the Mill Street Residents Association's Community clean up day could be the one for you. Sign up for this event or find out more follow this link: Event details for the Community Clean Up Day

And don't forget if you are closer to our Kingston Hill campus, we'll be bashing rhododendron and giving our wildlife pond some TLC on the same day - you can sign up for this event here: Eventbrite sign up for our first rhodobash of the year

All the best until next time :)
